Our next Savvy Shopper seminar is set for October 24 ... here are details of our April 28 seminar from Sean Fields ...

On April 28, Lubbock embarked on something new and momentous. People of various ages and ethnicities showed up. Married couples and single people were there. To my surprise, there were even a fair number of guys!

In case you don’t know what I am talking about, the first Savvy Shopper couponing course took place that day. There were a number of highlights, ranging from a dynamic presentation on ways to save with The A-J and coupons, a highly interactive question-and-answer session, and a drawing for door prizes. In addition, I had the privilege of talking with many people who shared their stories about saving money and time. I have some new ideas for articles now!

In the midst of talk about 90 percent price reductions and megapurchases for 3 cents, I unexpectedly stumbled across what I loved most about this course. What made this event extra special for me is that a community of people who would otherwise be considered different from each other united around a common idea that shopping can get you a greater quality of life.

In these disputatious times, it was refreshing to see a large and diverse group of people agree on something constructive. In the spirit of getting greater value, the Savvy Shopper course grew into something more than a class about saving money. Even though a proven path to massive savings was given, I think the greater value lay in people coming together.

If you missed it, I would feel sorry for you — except for the fact that we will be giving more courses throughout the year. As our experience grows and we get more input from the Savvy Shopper community, these courses will only get better. Given how well this one went, that is saying something!
